Meet the Doctors

The wellness team at Kinesis Healthcare includes Dr. David Renner, Dr. Margarite Melikian, and Dr. Jordan Bray.
Dr. Renner and Dr. Melikian founded Kinesis Healthcare in 2010.  They met while studying and teaching karate with the Illinois Shotokan Karate Clubs and have been happily married since 2005.  They are proud to welcome their friend and newest team member, Dr. Jordan Bray.

Margarite Melikian, DC, MSAc, PAK

Dr. Melikian's  passion for alternative medicine stems from her own experience.  As a teenager, she injured her knee and endured severe, unrelenting knee pain and swelling for years.  Physical therapy did not help, and she was told she would need knee surgery at just sixteen years of age.  Desperate, her family turned to an acupuncturist, and she recovered completely in just three treatments.  Acupuncture saved her from knee surgery.

This experience inspired her to help others avoid unnecessary suffering, drugs, and surgery.  Her mission is to help educate her community about natural solutions for lasting health & wellness.

Dr. Melikian earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic medicine and her Masters in Acupuncture with Cum Laude honors from the National University of Health Sciences. She is certified in Professional Applied Kinesiology (PAK) and has attended over 550 hours of post-doctoral education in PAK and internal medicine. She has been in practice since 2008, and focusing on women's health by integrating and applying her knowledge of acupuncture, nutrition, herbs, and chiropractic for a more comprehensive approach.   She has also studied Neuro Emotional Technique (NET).  And Dr. Melikian is certified by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) in Webster Technique for helping pregnant women.

Dr. Melikian has studied karate with the Illinois Shotokan Karate Clubs (ISKC) and holds the rank of Ni Dan (2nd degree black belt).  The highlights of her competitive career include a national title in 2001 and training with the USA team at Lake Placid Olympic Training Center.  Although she is no longer teaching, this is still a large part of her life, and she continues to volunteer at local karate tournaments.

David Renner, DC, DIBAK

Dr. Renner believes in making the world a better place by helping one person at a time.  His mission is to help people live healthy, pain-free lives.

Dr. Renner has been in practice since 2006 and has enjoyed serving as physician for the USA Shotokan Karate Team.  Being the team  doctor allows him to combine his two passions and lifelong pursuits: holistic medicine and karate.  Treating the former world-champion before his debut in 2009 is especially memorable for him.

He earned his Doctorate in Chiropractic medicine from the prestigious National University of Health Sciences and, with over 650 hours of post-doctoral training in this field, has earned a Diplomate degree in Professional Applied Kinesiology (DIBAK).  He is one of only two doctors in the state of Illinois to have earned this distinction.  He enjoys teaching and certifying other doctors and students in PAK. Dr. Renner also has training in other techniques, including Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) and Total Body Modification (TBM).

His love of martial arts began when he was only eight years old.  He is a San Dan (3rd degree black belt) and has been studying and teaching karate with the Illinois Shotokan Karate Clubs (ISKC) for over 25 years.  His competitive career includes the distinctions of being a two-time national champion.

At present, he continues to teach karate part-time at the Saint Charles and Park Ridge park districts.  He is a nationally ranked referee with the USA-NKF. He is also an executive board member of ISKC's booster club, which raises over $90,000 per year in charity donations for such causes as cancer, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, and the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Jordan Bray, DC, ND, PAK

Dr. Bray grew up in the small Ohio town of Piqua.  He struggled with chronic jaw pain ever since getting braces as a kid.  While in high school he shadowed a local chiropractor.  Soon thereafter he became a patient in hopes of addressing his jaw pain.  Dr. Bray was inspired by his doctor's comprehensive approach and thorough training, and he was thrilled when he experienced tremendous relief under chiropractic care.  It became routine for Dr. Bray to schedule an appointment with the chiropractor after any dental checkup, simply because it made his jaw feel so much better.

Motivated by his passion to help people and inspired by how much chiropractic and naturopathic medicine have helped him, Dr. Bray chose natural medicine as his calling.  And he is excited to now have the opportunity of paying it forward.

In pursuit of this goal, he moved to Lombard, Illinois to attend the National University of Health Sciences (NUHS).  In 2010 Dr. Bray was awarded a Bachelors degree in Biomedical Sciences, and in 2013 he was awarded a Doctorate of Chiropractic Degree.  He continued his studies at NUHS even after this, and in April 2015, Dr. Bray received his Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine.

During his time at National University of Health Sciences, Dr. Bray also studied over 400 hours of Professional Applied Kinesiology (PAK) with some of the top doctors in the field.  Additionally, Dr. Bray studied a variety of other techniques, including Gonstead Chiropractic Technique, Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT), Total Body Modification (TBM), Neuro Emotional Technique (NET), Contact Reflex Analysis (CRA), and Nutrition Response Testing (NRT).

Dr. Bray continues to take seminars to learn as much as possible and to help each and every patient be the very best they can be.  He is excited to now have the opportunity of paying it forward.
